County Chief Executive Office, Office of Emergency Management PIO and Emergency Manager Ken Kondo, L.A. County Community & Senior Services (CSS) Zachary Roman, L.A. County Sheriff's Department Doug De Cesar and Al Macias, L.A. County Department of Public Social Services John Cvjetkovic, Southern California Edison Salvador Ramirez, Southern California Gas Company David Meza and Kathleen Newton of L.A. County CSS who developed a disaster preparedness "Jeopardy" game. Currently lobbying at government agencies for the removal of the old bridge over Rio Nigua as a mitigation of floods in Salinas, PR Repeating Event

The PR Department of Transportation and Public Works, and the Highway Authority are constructing a new bridge over Rio Nigua in Salinas due to the bad condition of the old bridge. The new bridge is being constructed in accordance with the US Corps of Engineers specifications for the Rio Nigua Flood Control Project. The construction of the new bridge and the removal of the old one is the responsibility of the state government. The old bridge creates funnel effect on the water flow, causing the overflow of the river, and subsequent flooding of the town of Salinas. The Comite Rio Nigua is lobbying to convince the state government of the need to remove the old bridge upon completion of the new one.

College Park Squadron (Civil Air Patrol) Has attachmentsRepeating Event

Civil Air Patrol (official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force) is a nonprofit group of over 1,500 members in MD. CAP conducts 90% of search/ rescue missions for the USAF & flew 42 search/ rescue missions w/ 31 finds in MD & performs homeland security & disaster relief missions for federal, state & local agencies. CAP's Cadet Program allows youth 12-18 to progress self-paced in program of aviation, leadership training & physical fitness. Cadets compete for academic scholarships in engineering, science, aircraft mechanics, aerospace medicine, meteorology & others. There is no military obligation,but, if a Cadet joins the military they may enter at a higher rank. If its flight training, computers, communications, photography, survival training, astronomy-there's a place for you in CAP. Cadets have the chance to solo fly an plane at flight schools; others may travel abroad w/ the International Air Cadet Exchange. Cadets receive their uniform free & learning materials.

Currently lobbying at government agencies for the removal of the old bridge over Rio Nigua as a mitigation of floods in Salinas, PR Repeating Event

The PR Department of Transportation and Public Works, and the Highway Authority are constructing a new bridge over Rio Nigua in Salinas due to the bad condition of the old bridge. The new bridge is being constructed in accordance with the US Corps of Engineers specifications for the Rio Nigua Flood Control Project. The construction of the new bridge and the removal of the old one is the responsibility of the state government. The old bridge creates funnel effect on the water flow, causing the overflow of the river, and subsequent flooding of the town of Salinas. The Comite Rio Nigua is lobbying to convince the state government of the need to remove the old bridge upon completion of the new one.

CAP's Cadet Program allows youth 12-18 to progress self-paced in program of aviation, leadership training & physical fitness. Cadets compete for academic scholarships in engineering, science, aircraft mechanics, aerospace medicine, meteorology & others. There is no military obligation,but, if a Cadet joins the military they may enter at a higher rank. If its flight training, computers, communications, photography, survival training, astronomy-there's a place for you in CAP. The PR Department of Transportation and Public Works, and the Highway Authority are constructing a new bridge over Rio Nigua in Salinas due to the bad condition of the old bridge. The new bridge is being constructed in accordance with the US Corps of Engineers specifications for the Rio Nigua Flood Control Project. The construction of the new bridge and the removal of the old one is the responsibility of the state government. The old bridge creates funnel effect on the water flow, causing the overflow of the river, and subsequent flooding of the town of Salinas. The Comite Rio Nigua is lobbying to convince the state government of the need to remove the old bridge upon completion of the new one.

Community Response Task Force Repeating Event

The Community Response Task Force was initiated in early 2006 by several groups in the 59 north corridor area Harris/Montgomery Counties, TX. The City of Humble Office of Emergency Management contacted numerous groups that had historically assisted with relief during disasters to meet and discuss the feasibility of developing a local networking organization to help coordinate area volunteer relief efforts. Experiences during recent disaster efforts spurred these groups to develop the organization to develop and maintain a common methodology to disaster response for these varied groups. The resulting meetings led to the organizing of the Community Response Task Force. The CRTF is primarily a networking organization which provides coordination services, needs assessments, resource availability.

CAP's Cadet Program allows youth 12-18 to progress self-paced in program of aviation, leadership training & physical fitness. Cadets compete for academic scholarships in engineering, science, aircraft mechanics, aerospace medicine, meteorology & others. There is no military obligation,but, if a Cadet joins the military they may enter at a higher rank. If its flight training, computers, communications, photography, survival training, astronomy-there's a place for you in CAP. Currently lobbying at government agencies for the removal of the old bridge over Rio Nigua as a mitigation of floods in Salinas, PR Repeating Event

The PR Department of Transportation and Public Works, and the Highway Authority are constructing a new bridge over Rio Nigua in Salinas due to the bad condition of the old bridge. The new bridge is being constructed in accordance with the US Corps of Engineers specifications for the Rio Nigua Flood Control Project. The construction of the new bridge and the removal of the old one is the responsibility of the state government. The old bridge creates funnel effect on the water flow, causing the overflow of the river, and subsequent flooding of the town of Salinas. The Comite Rio Nigua is lobbying to convince the state government of the need to remove the old bridge upon completion of the new one.

Civil Air Patrol (official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force) is a nonprofit group of over 1,500 members in MD. CAP conducts 90% of search/ rescue missions for the USAF & flew 42 search/ rescue missions w/ 31 finds in MD & performs homeland security & disaster relief missions for federal, state & local agencies. CAP's Cadet Program allows youth 12-18 to progress self-paced in program of aviation, leadership training & physical fitness. Cadets compete for academic scholarships in engineering, science, aircraft mechanics, aerospace medicine, meteorology & others. There is no military obligation,but, if a Cadet joins the military they may enter at a higher rank. If its flight training, computers, communications, photography, survival training, astronomy-there's a place for you in CAP. Cadets have the chance to solo fly an plane at flight schools; others may travel abroad w/ the International Air Cadet Exchange. Cadets receive their uniform free & learning materials.

Sunol Dr. in East Los Angeles (90063) on Sept. 6, 2012. Presenting at the disaster preparedness workshop were L.A. County Chief Executive Office, Office of Emergency Management PIO and Emergency Manager Ken Kondo, L.A. County Community & Senior Services (CSS) Zachary Roman, L.A. County Sheriff's Department Doug De Cesar and Al Macias, L.A. County Department of Public Social Services John Cvjetkovic, Southern California Edison Salvador Ramirez, Southern California Gas Company David Meza and Kathleen Newton of L.A. County CSS who developed a disaster preparedness "Jeopardy" game. The new bridge is being constructed in accordance with the US Corps of Engineers specifications for the Rio Nigua Flood Control Project. The construction of the new bridge and the removal of the old one is the responsibility of the state government. The old bridge creates funnel effect on the water flow, causing the overflow of the river, and subsequent flooding of the town of Salinas. Civil Air Patrol (official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force) is a nonprofit group of over 1,500 members in MD. CAP conducts 90% of search/ rescue missions for the USAF & flew 42 search/ rescue missions w/ 31 finds in MD & performs homeland security & disaster relief missions for federal, state & local agencies. CAP's Cadet Program allows youth 12-18 to progress self-paced in program of aviation, leadership training & physical fitness. Cadets compete for academic scholarships in engineering, science, aircraft mechanics, aerospace medicine, meteorology & others. There is no military obligation,but, if a Cadet joins the military they may enter at a higher rank. If its flight training, computers, communications, photography, survival training, astronomy-there's a place for you in CAP. Cadets have the chance to solo fly an plane at flight schools; others may travel abroad w/ the International Air Cadet Exchange. Cadets receive their uniform free & learning materials.
