Living well with a volcano in your backyard...Mt. Rainier
Pierce county emergency management is partnering with USGS Pierce County Libraries to host presentations on the joy and hazards of living close to an active volcano. Spontaneous lahars, though not expected more than every 500 years, can be catastrophic. Let alone the impact of Mt. Rainier becoming an active volcano. A knowledgeable public can be better prepared for such an event. Our presentations are at various times and dates go to our website for details www:piercecountywa.org/prepare We will post information in March.
