Earthquakes: Prepare and join the Great Shakeout
Pierce County Emergency Management will present on earthquake hazards in the northwest and how to prepare for them in your home. Information will be available on resources to practice the Great Shake Out drill scheduled on October 17th at 10:17. Once again we are partnering with Pierce County Libraries who will host the presentations. Of course we are supported by the State of Washington with materials on the Great Shake Out! The Great Shake Out website for Washington has ideas for home, work,schools, etc to practice an earthquake drill. It is not a matter of if, but when! Mark your calendars! Millions of people will Drop, Cover, and Hold On at 10:17 a.m. on October 17th* in the 2013 Great Washington ShakeOut! Bring your family to a Pierce County Library or check our website for other dates in September - National Emergency Preparedness Month - to prepare for the Great Shake Out! (Postings for these presentations will occur in late spring on our website, times are PST)
